§ 1. The Disaster of Tray Flexure During Seating
When impression material enters the mouth, hydraulic pressure pushes against the tray walls. If the tray flexes during seating or setting, it rebounds upon removal, creating invisible dimensional distortion in master casts that results in ill-fitting crowns and open margins. Rigid high-impact polymer eliminates flexure entirely.
§ 2. Mechanical Lock Micro-Perforations
Without positive retention, impression material can detach from the tray during mouth extraction, ruining the impression. Engineered through-hole perforations combined with peripheral rim-lock beading provide mechanical interlock that holds alginate and silicone firmly in place.
§ 3. Anatomical Patient Comfort and Gag Reflex Mitigation
Rough or over-extended tray borders trigger the patient gag reflex and lacerate vestibular mucosa. Smooth rounded border contours and a tapered posterior border accommodate soft palate movement comfortably.
